NEWS

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

January 29th saw our first game back in the Navy Club after the holidays and I was pleasantly surprised to see 43 players turn up, this has been our highest turnout for three years and with 41 players the week before it shows just what a popular game poker still is.

Congratulations to Graeme McCormick on winning the

2009 MPC Poker Player of the Year.

After what can only be described as the closest run up to a final since MPC began some 3 years ago Graeme secured his victory in the last game of the year by playing his usual tight style allowing his two nearest rivals to go out. Congratulations to Graeme on what has been an excellent year for him, well done. ( Pictures will follow in the New Year)

Venue change

Due to difficulties with the committee at Maryport Social club Ltd we at MPC have decided to withdraw from this club in order to maintain a smooth, efficient and trouble free environment for our players, we will now be playing 3 games in the Bowling club and one in the Navy club until further notice.

FORUM

I have noticed that while many of you look at the points page and News items very few of you bother to look at the Forum, this is where you can have your say and put forward your ideas, it's easy to join and log in so why not give it a try plus there is always news posted there that isn't always on the main site. Have a look today and have your say we value your input. Dave.

Kiss of death.

It has been said that every time I mention a player on this site and how well they are doing I seem to put the kiss of death on them, for weeks after being mentioned their game goes to the wall, the only thing I can say about that is watch out all you table leaders, If I think you are doing too well then you ARE going to get a mention on this page, lol. Dave.
