Management Change.
From all of us at MPC I would like to give a
very warm welcome to our newest
shareholder/manager Mike Hawkins, he takes over
from Andrew Renwick who we would like to thank
for his dedication and service throughout his
tenure, although with a great love of the game
Andrew has decided he needs to concentrate on
other matters and so with a sadness he has
decided to call it a day and hand over to Mike.
We now look forward with excitement to the fresh
ideas and impetuous Mike has brought with him.
Club Changes
Well here we are in a New Year and with a few
changes, ever trying to keep the game fresh we
here at MPC have implemented a few changes to
our Friday night format, the first thing we have
done is to increase the starting chip stack from
10,000 chips to 15,000 this gives lots more play
to the game. Another change is that every 5th
week we will be running a Bounty shoot out game,
here every player is issued with a bounty chip
that can be cashed in at the end of your game,
the more bounty chips you have the bigger the
prize. The points league has also altered with
only 8 qualifying from monthly finals there is
now a seat to be won for the yearly final table
with a super satellite game to be played on Sat
10th November also we have introduced a loyalty
system - that is for every points game you play
here at MPC you will be awarded a loyalty point
that will count towards 200 chips for the yearly
final table should you qualify and with a
possible 40 weeks to play for those points you
could end up with 8,000 extra chips. With other
new and exciting things to come throughout the
year why not give us a try in 2012.
Poker Champion 2011
Congratulations are due to me, yes me after 4
years of trying I finally won the big game, my
aim was to win the trophy but that didn't work
out, Joe Pattinson took that honour so the next
best (and some would argue the best) option was
to win the yearly final table. Well done to all
those who qualified it was an excellent game
with a good atmosphere and good banter
throughout, so it only leaves me to say well
done me. David Renwick.
CONGRATULATIONS
Poker Player of the Year
Congratulations are in order for Joe (the silent
assassin) Pattinson who has won the Maryport
Poker Player of the year this year, it was a close run
game right up to the wire against Paul Haig who
won last year, with only 3 points in it at the
end it could hardly have been closer.
Congratulations are also in order for Paul who
defended his title well and has been a great
champion and a great ambassador for the game.
Well done both of you for an excellent final and
an excellent year.
Buy in
Due to the number of players refusing to buy a
raffle ticket we have introduced a £1.00 levy
onto the buy in this will entitle you to a
raffle ticket, the raffle ticket sales raises
the money to provide you with a buffet/snack at
half time, as most of the players eat the fayre
provided then it is only fair that it be paid
for, if any player objects to the £1.00 addition
then that is ok but they will not be entitled to
a half time snack as is provided by the club,
the raffle ticket also entitles you to a draw
for the prizes.
Points Table
Due to the many people who
go out of the game that do NOT inform the
tournament director when they are out it is
almost impossible to determine exactly when they
went out even if we discover who the missing
player may be, therefore it is now the policy of
MPC to refuse any point to that player,
accordingly we will adjust everyone else up one
point in the points table for that week.
FORUM
I have noticed that while
many of you look at the points page and News
items very few of you bother to look at the
Forum, this is where you can have your say
and put forward your ideas, it's easy to join
and log in so why not give it a try plus there
is always news posted there that isn't always on
the main site. Have a look today and have your
say we value your input. Dave.
Kiss of death.
It has been said that every time I mention a
player on this site and how well they are doing
I seem to put the kiss of death on them, for
weeks after being mentioned their game goes to
the wall, the only thing I can say about that is
watch out all you table leaders, If I think you
are doing too well then you ARE going to get a
mention on this page, lol. Dave.
