January's
monthly final table - played Feb 10th
February saw the 1st monthly
final table with eight players all vying for the
yearly final table seat, it was an interesting
game with some early chip leaders, but as these
things go it isn't the early leaders who always
win and so it was the case with Jeff Cass after
a slow start making it count when it mattered.
Well done Jeff on your win.
Congratulations to Graeme McCormick on winning the
2009 MPC Poker player of the year.
After what can only be described as the closest
run up to a final since MPC began some 3 years
ago Graeme secured his victory in the last game
of the year by playing his usual tight style
allowing his two nearest rivals to go out.
Congratulations to Graeme on what has been an
excellent year for him, well done.
Graeme
McCormick took the coveted title of
MPC Poker player of the
year 2009 with an
impressive 620 points his nearest rivals were
Dave Renwick and Billy Pegram who came close but
just couldn't quite close the massive gap Graeme
had set. Graeme topped the points board for most of the year slipping back
only occasionally but with his tight no nonsense
play he was always going to be in the running.
All in all it was a riveting year with some
excellent play and some new rising stars.
Maryport Poker Player of the
year
We at MPC had a brilliant 1st year with many new
players joining us and all had a chance to
compete for our 1st ever trophy.
After each game points were awarded according to
the finishing position of each player making the
final table and although it was a close run
thing near the end only one person could win it
and that was Peter Gibson.
Well done Peter from all of us at MPC.
Year two saw another new winner with Ryan Dixon
taking the trophy adding to his yearly final
champion status making this a clean sweep for
Ryan.
Well done Ryan from all of us at MPC.
Year three and yet another new face took the
trophy, this time it was Graeme McCormick
(Stash) after a very tight run up in the last
few weeks Graeme kept his cool and his momentum
to take the championship on the last game.
Well done Graeme from all of us at MPC.
